The purpose of this centre is to provide a safe culture free of stigma, gossip, toxicity, shop talk, and useless banter. Here at TFCA, the founders would like to extend the mutual respect and integrity to clients as well.
Police, Fire, Corrections, Paramedics, Health Care, Social Workers, Victim Support Services, and 911 Dispatchers organization/administration and culture, has long been recognized as a stressful, unpredictable, emotionally exhausting, and dangerous occupation. Stress and contributing risk factors have lasting and sometimes fatal results among the said above responders.
Dr. Mash, one of the co-founders of TFCA and TFI notes, "our company is built on the foundation and concept of a healthy family. It is essential to TFCA that our staff feel that they're part of the company and that the company is like a family to them. When you treat people with respect, kindness, and integrity, you get better productivity from staff, clear communication, and expectations. More importantly, how staff address and work together, in turn, also helps TFCA and TFI clients to comprehend the importance of their self-worth starts with how high you hold your head up.
We are the change in our organizations. Like battling toddler resistance is inevitable in any big corporation, private or public. Therefore, here a TFCA, we actively contribute to a positive, safe, and calm environment for our responders to turn too. We fully understand that Life is a gift.
What we choose to do with our gift is up to us—granted- when trauma enters our lives suddenly, and without notice, we enter a fog phase. During this phase, everything we do and or say sounds hopeless. The outcome always appears unsatisfactory. However, we will show you without words and lectures that you have choices.
The world around us needs us to be a part of the change, growth, and development. So what do you ask? We suggest that you stand up, dust off, and continue your destination and repeat the following statement… "I hear I forget; I see, and I remember, I do, and I will understand. If you get involve in the process of your healing, you are going to learn more about your trauma, journey, and the destination.
As a result of various scientific research (noted below), administrative and organizational pressures, emotional, physical, psychological threats, and lack of administrative support have a direct link to one's wellbeing in how we choose to address traumatic encounters.
These funds that are generated from our FRC will then be contributed evenly to our sister charity non-profit organization "Family Healing Centre" and a "Shelter for Domestic Abuse Survivors" and their pets."
Our capacity for the centre is 32 persons Maximum. So please call in advance to make sure we are not at full capacity.
If you are in an emergency - we suggest you call 211 or report to a hospital within your immediate proximity.
Here at TFCA, our co-founders represent various fields of first responders, such as the police force, correctional services, social workers, detectives, and military personal. This centre was a vision that can be rooted back to the owner and creator of Sierra Research Training and Education in Fresno county, California, under the direction of Dr. Jana Price-Sharps. Dr. Sharps was Dr.Mash's mentor and confident throughout her scholastic and professional career.
