The Pomegranate Project will be Ontario’s first holistic protection and empowerment model for refugee and asylum-seeking women at risk and survivors of gender-based violence to support their recovery, resilience, and reintegration meaningfully.
The idea was originated by an organization in Greece, Athens, by the name ACTION FOR WOMEN.

Domestic violence is a threat to human dignity and public health. Mounting evidence shows that domestic violence erodes personal and public health, spawning issues such as lifelong mental health challenges. To further compound the situation, COVID-19 and societies’ poor response to the pandemic have worsened the domestic violence crisis and disrupted mental health services for domestic violence victims.
